Okay, hereʻs the deal.

Weʻre told growing up, not to be selfish.

Whether itʻs because of this reason or that, weʻre taught to not be selfish because itʻs wrong. You never judge a book by their cover, because it might be you someday.

I understand. Trust me.

Now hereʻs the thing they donʻt want to tell you.

As you go through life in your 20s, you need to become selfish when it comes to self-growth.

Bare with me.

This is the time in your life where you should be trying many different things. By that, I mean acquiring as many skills that interest you as possible.

Or just trying different things until you find some that stick.

The knowledge you gain from being in your 20s, will become the foundation in which to build off of.

We all need a starting point in life, and this is where it is.

Whether you want to be in your dream career or inspiring the next generation. The knowledge you gain from these next 10 years of your life, will be defining moments.

Do you have to go to school to learn new skills? No. With how advanced technology is today, there are many different ways we are able to acquire new knowledge.

Unfortunately, there is a downside to all this.

There will be people who are going to use their skills for selfish reasons. Greed is a real and unfortunate disease most are not aware of.

Once they have money, sometimes they can’t stop. They won’t want to. Money means power to some people.

Let’s not be like those. We want to be the change in which we desire to see in our everyday lives.

Knowledge is power, and where knowledge is, everything else will fall in line.

So be selfish to achieve your goals in life. But always be considerate and never look down on those who are starting behind you.

Until next time,

Sweet T.
