Wait, hear me out.

Religion today is not seen as the religion that we are all used to.

From what I viewed in society, religion seems to be used as a smoke screen to further one’s agenda.

Here’s why:

1: The devils siren

Sins are something to come by daily and are taught to avoid constantly. Some will say it’s easy to avoid, while others remain hungry for more after just one taste.

The devil’s siren will not be loud; it’s in the silence we hear the call that compels us to justify ‘just a little taste’ and nothing more will be done from that.

Oh, how corrupt your thoughts are that you don’t realize you’ve been drawn into something wrong until you are blindfolded and led in the dark.

2: The bible

The bible is a challenging feat to understand. It takes some people years to fully grasp what is being said, whereas it takes others a mere hour to understand the message that is hidden in plain sight.

Personally, I have come to understand some things in the bible, whereas others are still unknown to me.

In religion, you learn how the voice of your God is said in the words written on parchment paper. Has it ever occurred to you how perspective can go multiple ways?

The Bible’s words can take many different shapes and forms, so how will you know which is the right and which is the wrong form? In plain terms, you don’t know.

The person reading the text will always have some sort of feeling towards what they are reading. That feeling is what evokes the way we interpret words and incorporate a verse from the bible in our daily lives.

3: Weaponized

We all know how a person can wear many different masks, right? Have you ever thought of how agendas can be pushed through that same method?

A thought passed, “What if politicians use smoke screens to create the illusion of one thing, when they’re trying to accomplish another?” That same thought was put to the test when politics has shown us, time and time again, just how seeing and hearing are not always the case.

The said smoke screens were so heavy that they made us blind to using our actual energy towards questioning everything.

On the contrary, there are practices today where religion is used for its intended purpose. Whether it be to connect different cultures, or to understand what our mission in life could be.

However, the distinction between religion and a cult is a subtle one that is far more complicated to grasp than a needle in a haystack once you are exposed to it.

Some food for thought.

We’ll talk soon,

Sweet T.
