“Money can’t buy happiness” is a famous saying that reminds us that, regardless of material possessions, pure happiness does not stem from material wealth.

However true that statement is, happiness is still happiness.

Some of us don’t have the means to pursue our true happiness in the present, so temporary happiness can be a good substitute. And if you consistently chase temporary happiness, it may sometimes lead to a path of pure happiness.

Here’s why you should chase temporary happiness:

1: Stress Relief

We experience a tremendous amount of stress daily, and it’s more common than you might think that some people struggle to release their tension healthily. Chasing temporary happiness for stress-reducing purposes will help to alleviate some of the pressure that’s put on you.

We all take breaks in life, so where’s the shame in taking a break from stress?

2: Positive Connections

Laughter is the best medicine when you’re not feeling well. Having positive connections can bring that moment of temporary happiness, more joy, and pleasure in your life than you realize.

Don’t miss out on temporary positive connections – something as simple as talking to the elderly, who are often at the grocery market at the same time, can bring more joy than you realize.

3: Resilience

Building those temporary connections and stress-reducing ideas will become like a makeshift wall. Something that’s impenetrable and helps you to bounce back from difficult situations when needed.

Resilience is built on both positive and negative experiences. Don’t forget to build on those positive experiences, even if you have to settle for temporary happiness.

On the contrary, temporary happiness can be misleading at times when you try to make it a constant state. This will also bring confusion if all you’re doing is building on temporary happiness and disregarding your other emotions.

All in all, if you need to chase that temporary happiness, chase it. But don’t let it mislead you down the wrong paths.

We’ll talk soon,

Sweet T.
