Getting will never be fun. However, we often find that we can’t be immune to the slightest cold.
So, here are three things that help me overcome my sickness:
1: Chicken Congee
I will continue to eat chicken congee from my local restaurant whenever I’m sick.
There’s the protein that your body needs to replenish, the soup is fantastic, and the ginger that’s incorporated will surely add some benefit to your immune system. (I just haven’t figured that part out yet)
2: Steaming
Steaming is especially helpful when I have a sore throat and it’s difficult to breathe. Strengthening my respiratory system is my top priority, and using steam (either from the shower or boiling water and going old school with steaming) has made my system feel ten times better. I can now go to sleep with a little less pain.
3: Tea
The benefits of drinking certain teas when you’re sick will help boost your immune system and even soothe some of your symptoms that come with being ill.
Of course, it’s not a miracle worker, but it does help me tremendously while being sick and trying to recover faster.
All in all, don’t be afraid to set aside modern medicine and try a more holistic approach. Taking a Tylenol will only help your symptoms for so long before your body starts rejecting your usual medication remedies.
Take care of your health in the best way you know how, but don’t be afraid to explore and discover what works for you.
We’ll talk soon,
Sweet T.
