Wow.
I’ve seen previews of this on Booktok and thought it would be another overrated/ over-hyped series that others were paid to promote. However, I was thoroughly surprised while I was reading this book. Granted, I didn’t realize I was reading the last book in the series.
But that did not matter once I read the first sentence, which turned into the first chapter that somehow ended up with me reading the entire book in one sitting.
Don’t let the page count fool you. This book will hook you so well that you won’t want to put it down.
The forced proximity (the drama), the grumpy sunshine (the chemistry), and the boss-employee relationship (the tension) hit all the right spots. This is my first time reading one of Kelsie Rae’s books, and I’m absolutely feral about her writing.
There’s just something about good writing that can capture a scene with so many emotions that you don’t have to think about too many details to understand the picture. The mental cinema playing in my head while reading this book was probably one of the best movies I will remember forever.
I recommend this book to those who love sports and workplace romance. It is a green flag if you’re looking for a loyal, patient MMC who will protect his woman regardless of her past. This book will not disappoint.
