I jumped the series (I know), but I was completely thrown for a loop when I read this book.

It’s easy to favor and want Lukyan’s story when he’s the funniest character within the series, so I was not expecting the Butcher to get a story before him. But I do understand why.

The timeline for this story was strategically planned. Everything lined up.

The plot just continued to thicken.

So logically, it makes sense that the Butcher got a story before his son. But wow. This story was a fantastic take on the second-chance romance trope.

I didn’t think a widowed romance would be for me, but I gave this one a chance. After all, I couldn’t DNF the series once I started it.

The Bratva Butcher, or Dimitri Volkov. Vowed to be faithful until death came knocking on his door. The guilt shown throughout the story was justified, in a way. I would feel guilty, too, if I gave a vow over my dead partner’s grave and then did the exact opposite. But grief is dealt with in many ways.

The Crimson Death. Passionate, independent, and raw. Autumn DeValos is as bright as the hair on her head. Her spirit and tenacity are amazing. So what happens when you put fire with fire? Indeed, you’d get a disaster waiting to happen.

This book was a welcomed surprise. I was surprised to see how the plot progressed within the Butcher’s story and how it played out from a different point of view in The Bratva Knight.

I would recommend this book to those wanting to dive into the dark romance genre. It’s not too intense, and the right amount of spice is included to understand the genre.

I can’t wait for Lukyan’s book to be published; I’m not the only one.
