Everyone loves new things.
Where do you think you acquire your desires from?
However, to achieve the new things you want in life, you must understand the meaning of letting the old go.
In life, we encounter a few things that we consider our prized possessions. These are the things that we would not leave behind in a house fire. Sometimes it’s something expensive, and at other times, it’s something that has been passed down from generation to generation.
Keeping these is okay. Unless you deem everything in your possession prize possessions, you should look around and choose at least five things.
Secondly, we have our desires that we acquire. Like posters, merchandise from our favorite artists, paintings, and so on. These are used to decorate and add personality to our houses or rooms.
These types of materialistic things we acquire based on our desires are what we need to focus on when we are moving forward in life. The saying “out with the old and in with the new” is meant to be taken literally sometimes. Whether it’s with clutter or internal struggles.
Getting rid of things that you haven’t used or no longer serve your purpose in life is better out of your life, rather than keeping them cluttered for a rainy day.
I know it’s hard to get rid of the old things, trust me, I’ve been there. However, when you ultimately release it from your life, you’ll feel a little lighter than before.
And before you know it, you’ll have a lot more space for new things.
Don’t hold on to the past forever; we keep moving towards the future in the end.
We’ll talk soon,
Sweet T.
