Everyone tells you at least once in your life: “Don’t let their opinions get to you.”

Which, on a normal day, would be annoying to hear when you’ve just taken something personally. However, it’s time to start listening to others’ opinions.

Here’s why:

1: Constructive Criticism

When you get others’ opinions on things, you can essentially see a different view of the subject at hand. For example, you might have a business idea that you need others’ outlook on. There’s nothing wrong with another’s perspective, and it can essentially lead you to maybe better your product.

2: Know your Enemies

People are going to have opinions on everything, regardless of whether they’re aware of it or not. When you listen to others’ opinions on (let’s say) your experiences in life, and they’re constantly negative, you can weed out who’s a supporter and who’s simply there to relish in your downfall.

3: Personal Growth

This one is very controversial because when we’re finding ourselves in life, we will say, “Screw the status quo,” and live life to the fullest. However, we all need advice at some point in our lives, and it’s during those times that we ask others for opinions on what we should do next.

Personal growth is not linear, nor are the opinions others give for free.

On the contrary, there will be times when the only opinion you should be listening to is your own. Other opinions will bring you down sometimes, and that’s completely normal. What’s not normal is living by their standards based on the complexity of their views towards you.

Be aware and be successful in life (however, that may be).

We’ll talk soon,

Sweet T.
