With this dark verse series, the author created an interconnected universe. Every book was better than the next. But the Annihilator? This book was too good; I refused to put it down.
I broke my sleep schedule for this book and I’d do it all over again.
The Shadow Man. It’s incredible how a dual personality can hold so much normalcy yet so much danger. He’s obsessive, strategic, and powerful. Power holds credibility, and the Shadow Man wields power.
But what’s a man without a woman?
Lyla went through hell and back. The deeper you get into the story, the more you’re hit with on her story. But most of all? The fact that this book can be related to others who have gone through something similar to this. The world is a dark place, and this book is simply a glimpse into the rough edges of society.
This book is not for the faint of heart. It’s one of the darkest books that captures the emotions behind the situations portrayed within this romance, and it’s beautiful. Not many can capture the illustration of what characters that encounter this type of lifestyle feel.
But wow, is this eye-opening.
Book are political and this dark romance really portrays that.
I recommend this book for those who want to expand their perspective. Please check the trigger warning, and don’t downplay dark romances when this could be someone else’s reality.
