Ignorance is not bliss.

Whether you acknowledge it or not, politics affects everything, from the groceries you buy to your education.

Politics for most (especially those in our 20s) means something more. It’s our future.

Many people don’t agree with either side of politics for reasons we shouldn’t worry about. However, most people vote for who they believe aligns with their beliefs and who the ‘lesser evil’ is to be in power.

That’s what it usually boils down to.

Who will take us into the future rather than try to do the opposite? Who will protect our rights as we move into an unknown future?

As you are educated, you will learn that some people have views that align with one party rather than the other. We listen, and we don’t judge.

Okay, maybe we do judge a little.

That’s politics: We vote, we judge, and we learn (hopefully).

Politics is difficult to understand. There are terms and phrases that nobody would use in everyday life (especially if you’re new to the entire process.

The main point is to learn and adapt. The more you educate yourself (not just surface-level education), the more your views on life will change. Your political views on life will also change with your perspective.

It’s okay if it changes.

It is not okay if your political views change, and you cannot explain why.

If you don’t explain why your views change, you’ll be perceived as a chicken running without its head. Nobody wants to be perceived that way.

So educate yourself.

Until next time,

Sweet T.

P.S. Merry Christmas and Happy New Years
