I never thought a single-dad romance would have roped me in this much. Heartless introduces us to Cade and Willa, a brooding cowboy and a free-spirited woman, as they are thrust into each other’s lives head-on.

The author balances laughter, love, and longing between both characters to the fullest extent possible. Somebody needs to get me a tissue for the tears I shed from the joys and sorrows of this book.

Willa Grant, the independent woman you are. She knew what, when, where, and how she wanted things done. Going from a bartender to a nanny had its adjustment period, but she made it work. Her insecurities throughout the book were not strong enough to keep her back from what she wanted.

I will forever look to her as my spirit animal.

Cade Eaton, the man that you are. We all love a grumpy and brooding male lead, but Cade took it to a different level. My, my, the amount of horses that can be saved… As a single-dad being protective of your child and their interests is not far-fetched, normal even.

But when our grumpy single dad meets his independent sunshine… oh, how worlds collide.

The chemistry between Willa and Cade is still evident as the book closes. The tension we feel throughout the book is undeniable from their first encounter. Regardless of their different views, their ability to respect one another while having a mutual goal speaks volumes.

Not only is Cade protective of his son, but it extends to Willa the moment they first meet. He would not think twice to protect her interests, even if it didn’t align with his beliefs.

Closing this book will only be in spirit, as Cade and Willa will live rent-free in my head for the rest of my life. I am excited to see where this series takes the rest of the Eaton family.
