Summary: (Per Author)
Miguel Ruiz reveals the source of self-limiting beliefs that rob us of joy and create needless suffering. Based on ancient Toltec wisdom, the Four Agreements offer a powerful code of conduct that can rapidly transform our lives to a new experience of freedom, true happiness, and love.
My Thoughts:
The Four Agreements was the first book I’ve read from cover to cover that helped me see life in a different light.
As you step into the world of adulthood, you start to question everything. Some things in life are not as glorious as you thought. There are all these situations you find yourself in, and feelings you can’t help but express.
I decided to seek answers within this book, as I had many questions with few answers.
The Four Agreements: Be impeccable with your words, Don’t take things personally, Don’t make assumptions, and Always do your best.
The examples in the book are a little extreme, but the message is clear at the end of the day. The insight you get from reading through a different viewpoint is very transformative.
When I was growing up, I used to get angry at the most minuscule things. I never understood why, until I realized, I took everything personally. Whether it was meant to be or not.
By reading this book, I transformed my life by applying the four agreements to my everyday life.
Regardless of how much life experience one has, it’s always good to learn something from a different point of view. If you are slightly interested and looking for more ways to expand your worldly views, I will continuously recommend this book!
