Let’s be real.
When we think of getting up and exercising, the thought of staying in bed seems like the more appealing thought.
I know, I struggle to get up and exercise too. With our workload and social lives, it feels as though we don’t have time for something silly.
Why work out when we’re constantly moving throughout the day?
Well, that’s simple. If we choose to exercise, it’s our choice. Whereas, when we move throughout the day, it’s because we’re working towards obligations in life.
But let’s look at it from the flip side.
If you were to get up and move around, you’d feel a lot less tense. Even if it’s something as simple as stretching. The fresh air will help reawaken your tired body and rejuvenate yourself.
Yes, the process of starting the exercise is tedious and takes a lot of mental willpower. But once you’re doing the fitness activities, you won’t remember the laziness you felt just minutes before.
It’s always the process to get something started. Whether it’s getting to the gym, starting your first sentence for your book, or getting the ingredients needed for your dinner.
The process is where your mental strength comes from. It’s easy to dream of the what-ifs.
Exercising also helps with your mental health. A couple of years ago, I was in a bad state mentally. It wasn’t until I started to push myself to go to the gym, that I saw an improvement in my mental health.
When you work out, you’re focused on your body. It’s a constant focus on being in the now. Paying attention to details like which muscles you’re working or controlling your breathing.
I was once told: “Make tomorrow easier, by conquering a difficult today.”
So, let me ask you…Are you willing to make tomorrow easier?
Until next time,
Sweet T.
