Let’s be real.

Once we hit our 20s, taking care of our health is the last thing on our minds.

Suddenly, everything is too expensive, so we make budget cuts. Especially when we’re in our mid to early 20s. Some of those cuts include going to the doctor… or the dentist.

Do we really need to go to the doctor or the dentist? We are eating semi-healthy. We are functioning regularly. We brush and floss every night.

Short answer, yes.

Without somebody to force us to make the appointments, we tend to avoid taking the proper care our bodies need. For our bodies to operate at the highest level, we must take appropriate care of it.

I know, I know. Who needs long-term health, right? We’re here for a good time, not a long time.

Well… Why not do both? It would suck to go out in a painful way, no?

Personally, I avoided the doctors’ offices like the plague. Especially since I had to make my own phone call! Talk about social anxiety.

Anxiety got the best of me. What am I supposed to say? How am I supposed to answer their questions? What if they think I’m stupid for not calling correctly! Every possible question to scare me out of making that phone call passed through my mind.

The bottom line is, that everybody has anxiety over something. Don’t let the fear of what others think about you ( especially over the phone) control you. Take care of your body.

Keep on top of your health now. The future you will thank you.

Sure, everything is expensive. But we just have to make our health and hygiene one of those priorities.

It will be an adjustment, but, as I like to say:

“Complicated routines make for an easier life.”

Until next time,

Sweet T.
