Let’s be real.
Politics is a part of our everyday lives. Whether we’re studying in a classroom or walking down the street looking at billboard signs.
We make choices that affect our lives.
The presidential election is one of the choices we have a say in who will dictate our nation’s lives.
But, why do we have to vote?
Voting is important. Especially if you are an American citizen.
When voting for somebody, it’s best to do research about what the person running is standing for. This year’s presidential election features the top two contenders. Kamala Harris is representing the Democratic Party. Donald Trump is representing the Republican Party.
As you dive deep into the presidential election and start uncovering all these different things, let’s remember one thing. The media can portray biased opinions based on their feelings.
Does that mean you automatically believe it’s a lie? No. You keep an open mind when researching and discovering different articles about both candidates.
The information I look for is facts. What facts are there available to back up this claim as opposed to an opinionated article? Can multiple people back up this claim?
However, the media focuses mainly on the two candidates the House is backing. We need to look at our third party as well. Looking at as many options that are provided to us will help in the long run.
The independent party and another choice you should consider doing research on is Robert Kennedy Jr.
Does being an independent party mean they’re not good enough for the House to back? No. Absolutely not.
Everybody is entitled to their choices. They choose who to support when the time comes to back one person, especially in politics. Being an independent means that you base your vote on the candidates’ issues. You do this rather than based on political ideology.
It’s a lot to take in.
Social media is taking the political world by storm bringing issues to light all over the world. But don’t take that for granted and base your opinions on that alone.
Keep the baseline of the issue and do more research on your own. Educate yourself before your choices educate you the hard way.
You’re not alone in this. We’re all educating ourselves in different ways. Keep an open mind and find the facts.
Until next time,
Sweet T.
