Okay, let’s be real.

At some point in our lives, we’re going to be questioning every single detail of our life. We can call it a mid-life crisis or a quarter-life crisis.

Regardless, it’s most likely going to happen.

With college done and the world at our fingertips, we can do anything and everything. Right?

What happens when we don’t know what we want to do? What happens when all we knew was done and over with, after getting a piece of paper we spent thousands of dollars on?

I’ll tell you the truth: I don’t know what happens.

I can tell you, what I have experienced at first.

It started with the job applications, internship requests and many other things that were sent and sought after. I needed a next step in life.

Unfortunately, not everybody gets the job after college. Especially if you don’t have the experience to go with it.

To be transparent with you, I started to question everything.

‘What am I doing with my life?’

‘Why can’t I land this job?’

‘I have no personality, no wonder I can’t figure out my life.’

It was a constantly cycle throughout the day.

I couldn’t understand how I did everything right, yet here I am. Feeling like a failure with no thing to show for in life.

It was then, I realized: You have to lose yourself in order to find who you’ve become.

So, I bided my time.

Financially, I made the decision to start paying for memories rather than a quick night out.

My first solo trip, was indescribable. I felt as though, a missing part of myself was being put together again. And when I came back home, I took time out of my day to get to treat myself. To get to know the person I had become.

I learned my interest had changed drastically once I started to focus on myself. Instead of losing myself more, I started to find who I’ve become.

So, to you I say, it’s okay to feel lost. Embrace it. Grow with it.

As you grow and navigate life, you’re going to lose yourself more times than you want. But take time for yourself and find what you like to do, even if it’s trying a new coffee flavor out.

trust yourself, push through and persevere.

Until next time,

Sweet T.
