The pressure you receive from society, is immense.

You’re expected to have your life together before you turn 25 now. Regardless of your circumstances.

That’s where I struggled.

I didn’t know what I wanted to do in life. I didn’t know where I wanted to go. Heck, I barely knew what I wanted to eat for my next meal! How was I suppose to get my life together before 25?

At the time, I was working at a well known corporation. That’s where I met one of my best friends. We would get slammed with more work than we signed up for. And when we asked about what was going on?

They said we signed up for the additional work.

To say we were tired, would be an understatement. Our store would be one that met our store goals very quickly and efficiently.

One night, before going into work, I asked the universe for a sign. Not something small that I wouldn’t think twice about. I needed something big.

Something I knew would give me the confirmation that I was on the right track in life. That this was all apart of the process and everything would be okay. Regardless of my situation.

Well…

I’m not too sure how long passed, but one day when I was working a shift with my best friend, this lady comes up to us. At first they approached us with a concern about something in the store.

After about 10-15 minutes later, she circled back around to us and we asked if she found who she was looking for that would take her concern. She said yes and thanked us for our help.

Not too long after we got that out of the way, she started to talk to me directly. She asked some personal questions and I kept them as vague as possible.

It wasn’t long before she told me thing about myself that I wasn’t very reluctant to share with her.

“You like to write don’t you?” Astonished, I nodded as a reply. “Keep writing. Think outside the box, don’t confine yourself within the box. You’re destined for greatness…” She kept going.

Our conversation went on for a couple minutes longer, just her sharing with me and telling me things are going according to plan. You’re doing amazing, and to keep going.

This lady, that I’ve never met in my life, that was from an entire different state, had given me the sign I was looking for.

She couldn’t tell I was exhausted. She couldn’t have know that I dreaded waking up everyday, wondering when my life was going to start. She didn’t even know that I was very keen on writing in my free time.

She just knew me as a worker at my company.

It was then, that I kept reaffirming to myself, everything will be okay.

From then on, whenever I would doubt myself, she would be who I remember. The lady who will never know me, but gave me her support in life.

The lady who saved my life.

She’s who I give credit to when I finally took the leap and started to publish my works for a larger platform to see.

If you ever doubt yourself, just know. I’m rooting for you, if nobody else will.

Me. The stranger that doesn’t know you, or your situation, but will give you my support regardless.

It’s time for a change in society, and the world.

With our words, we can make an impact. We can make a difference. One voice at a time.
